Reject Modernity, Embrace Masculinity: Why Masculinity is What the World Needs (Viral Trend Analysis)
Why is there a countermovement against the modern culture in favour of traditional masculinity? How does this trend demonstrate why masculinity is so needed?
Ask many young men in the world today about the state of masculinity, manliness and manhood in today’s age, and they will say that it’s dying. When one looks at the world today, they see women’s rights, feminism, LGBTQ, and other movements that seek to suppress the natural masculinity within the men of today. Men has been forced to become less masculine: less assertive, less ambitious, less disciplined, less responsible, and less willing to lead.
One of the latest social media trends that is the result of this current culture is the “Reject Modernity, Embrace Masculinity” Youtube trend that took off a few months ago.
The main reason this trend has taken off is because men have become very discontented with the direction the world is going. Men are sick and tired of feminizing themselves and weakening themselves to conform to the world. Why? Because almost everything the world promotes to men is designed to make men weaker.
Today, it is okay for men to be obese and out of shape. It is okay for men to be skinny and soft. It is okay for men to be lazy and directionless. It is okay for men to be penniless and relying on their parents or government handouts to live on. It is okay for men to be useless and emotionally impulsive. It is okay for men to be decadent and not believe in a higher power or purpose. It is okay for men to be addicted to alcohol, social media, video games, marijuana and pornography. It is okay for men to be girly and unattractive to women. It is okay for men to be irresponsible to their wives, family, children, and the wider community.
When softness and harmlessness become the only consciously acceptable virtues, then hardness and dominance will start to exert an unconscious fascination.

Reject Modernity…
The videos usually start with a whole montage of men doing things that objectively makes them weaker, or dare I say, less of a man. They refuse to exercise or take risks, they eat until they are engorged with food, they wear long nails, lashes, skirts, make-up and skinny jeans. The videos presents this as modernity, or what the world today deems as acceptable.
The world today, under the influence of feminism and weak, immature men, are coddling up to men that are living less that what their potential is. The first part of these videos show this fact. However, men are meant to be strong, responsible, dependable, ambitious, ruthless, strategic and powerful. In fact, that is what men deep down want to not only feel, but what they want to be. This is a desire that is deep-rooted in biology. If men deny this part of themselves, they become depressed and anxious, and their mental health suffers.
Our world isn’t offering men more paths to virile fulfilment or vital experience.
What the modern world offers average men is a thousand and one ways to safely spank our monkey brains into oblivion…
…We were born into a peace of plenty, a pleasure-economy, a bonobo masturbation society.
-Jack Donovan (The Way Of Men)
…Embrace Masculinity
Hence, that is what the second part of the video presents. It started as mainly a tribute to the late social media bodybuilder Zyzz, as the next set of clips involve him performing his workout routine. Over time, different clips were introduced with men doing manly activities (to put it bluntly).
We see men competing in athletics and sports. We see men working dangerous jobs. We see men weightlifting and engaging in intense cardiovascular exercise. We see men fighting in combat sports or fighting in wars. We see clips of men being men.
When it comes to taking action, the masculine tendency is to move forward, explore the situation, attack, and vanquish…
…It derives pleasure from staying on the offensive and taking risks. It prefers to maintain its independence and room to manoeuvre.
-Robert Greene (The Laws Of Human Nature)
This part of the video montage are representations of what the men of today strive to be. Today’s men seem more lost than ever and more unhappy than ever, and most of the blame falls on the shoulders of the attempted feminization of our men, the attack on masculinity, and the loss of traditional values and traditional gender roles through this modern movement of promoting “toxic masculinity”. Think of any show of masculine power and force, and weak, effeminate, emotionally unstable men will call it “toxic masculinity”. The second part of the video inspires men to fight against the societal norms of today, and to live by the traditional masculine values of time past.
We need to build, brick by brick, toward the goal of mature masculinity, until at last we can stand on the high platform at the top, surveying our realm as “Lord of the Four Quarters”.
-Robert Moore (King, Warrior, Magician, Lover)
It is not only what men need psychologically, but it is what they are biologically programmed to do. Leadership, grit, ambition, strength, courage, competitiveness, work ethic, mental fortitude, discipline. All masculine values, all traits that add to a man’s power and will to impose themselves on their world and make things happen.
The surprising thing is that if men become more masculine, then what happens to the women? Well, only truly too far gone women that have been brainwashed by feminism to the point of no return will call these masculine men toxic. The good women, women that are not fully programmed by the modern values of the world, will welcome these men with open arms, and they will become happier as a result. Women crave and are attracted to these type of men, and when a women is in the frame of a masculine man, she is able and free to relax into her feminine essence. Masculine men plus feminine women equals loving and harmonious relationships.
On a side note: Bad feminism is attacking masculinity and saying all men are trash. Good feminism (if there is such a thing, but would you even call it feminism?) is empowering women to embrace who they truly are, embracing their femininity, and ensuring their rights to dignified living.
Women want mastery over their men, but they want real men, strong men, not man-boys and not effeminate men who do not take responsibility and ownership over their lives.
-Stefan Aarnio (Hard Times Create Strong Men)
So this video trend is a result of the dissatisfaction of men. It is a result of men wanting to become even more masculine. Men want feel powerful and capable, to feel the testosterone coursing through their veins. Men want to feel needed again, as leaders, fathers, husbands, soldiers, thinkers, and builders. In reality, men and masculinity is always needed, because the world is built and is maintained by the strength of men and by the strength of the masculine force.
What can men do after watching these montages? It is certainly not enough to just watch these montages once and feel motivated for a few minutes, then go back to being lazy and stagnant. You need to put that new masculine energy somewhere useful. You must transmute that energy to build your masculine being.
A lot of people think that once they reach a certain level of status, respect, or success, that they’ve made it in life. I’m here to tell you that you always have to find more. Greatness is not something that if you meet it once it stays with you forever.
